Santa Paws is back at Dogs Trust as adorable dogs pick their presents

It's that time of the year, folks! Dogs Trust have shared an adorable video of their pooches picking their own Christmas presents - and it is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts.

Santa Paws is back again with his sackful of toys for the delighted dogs at the Finglas charity. The toys, which kind-hearted animal lovers donated, were lined up for the pooches by Santa and his elves.

Each dog was allowed in, one at a time and using methods known only to themselves, selected a toy to take back to their kennel. Some decisive pooches went straight in and selected their favourite toy, while others were far more selective, sniffing, testing and picking up multiple toys before making that important final decision.

A mischievous Collie cross called Queenie decided one toy was simply not enough for her in a hilarious escapade, somehow managing to play with multiple toys at once. As many of the dogs featured in the video are nervous about unfamiliar people, Dogs Trust said selecting a toy brings out their true personalities and allows potential adopters to see the "real them" which may take a few months to emerge in a new home.

Dogs Trust receives no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of its supporters. The charity is appealing for donations to help them continue their life saving work and to care for as many dogs as possible.
