Sandi Toksvig uncovers secrets about the Sex Education house in Extraordinary Escapes

TV presenter Sandi Toksvig is exploring unusual places to stay across the UK in her Channel 4 show Extraordinary Escapes With Sandi Toksvig where she and Jenny Eclair uncover secrets about the famous Sex Education house on the Welsh border. The house, which is known for being the home of Otis and Jean in the popular Netflix series, is on the Welsh border in the Wye Valley.

Sandi takes Jenny Eclair, the comedian, novelist, and actress, to explore the famous house and learns some interesting facts about the property. The house is 110 years old and was originally flat packed and imported from Norway.

The original owners saw the house at an exhibition and it was brought by train to the Wye Valley and assembled at its spot on the hill. The red panels are typical of a Scandinavian house as red was the cheapest and easiest colour to source, which is why it is widely used there.
