A San Jose police officer was fired after using the department’s Flock license plate tracking system to provide the location of a woman to the suspect accused of abusing her, The Guardian reported.
Chief Paul Joseph confirmed the termination on Friday, noting that the officer accessed the surveillance data on his personal phone without any authorization. This incident highlights the growing concerns surrounding the misuse of camera technology that has been deployed rapidly across the country over the last several years.
