Jed York, principal owner of the San Francisco 49ers and co-owner of Leeds United and Rangers FC, was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting in Ohio after allegedly responding to an online advert, before pleading no contest to two misdemeanour charges. The 44-year-old executive, who grew up near the area, was detained on Sunday morning at a mobile home community in East Palestine, close to Youngstown.
York had initially been charged with engaging in prostitution. That charge was later dropped. On Monday morning he instead entered a no contest plea to disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, the second count relating to his use of a mobile phone to respond to the undercover advertisement, according to prosecutors.
