The first day of SDCC 2024 saw the first trailer drop for Transformers One, featuring Optimus Prime and Megatron, while the movie's producer told GamesRadar+ that there are already plans for a sequel.

Meanwhile, the Deadpool and Wolverine panel saw appearances from stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, as well as a bunch of the movie's cameo actors. "If there's still any question about the importance of experiencing something with a crowd, that just changed everything," Feige told Hall H. "That was astounding and the best movie experience of my life."

We also learned that the BioShock movie will be a "much smaller version" than originally planned after Netflix "lowered the budgets", there's already a "badass" first draft of Todd McFarlane’s R-rated Spawn movie, and James Wan is producing Teacup, a new horror show inspired by Robert McCammon’s Stinger.

Plus, there was a glimpse at the opening titles for the new Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.

The second day of SDCC 2024 kicked off with a bang at The Boys panel in Hall H. Pretty much the whole of the cast was there from Antony Starr (Homelander) to  Hughie’s Jack Quaid. But it wasn't all reunions, as the team announced a brand new Boys spin-off starring Stormfront and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles, who was also in attendance) and we got to see the first trailer for Gen V season 2.

Then, we took a trip to Middle Earth as the cast and crew of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power took to the stage. We got to see a brand new Sauron-focused trailer for season 2, which showrunners said is "about entering the nuclear age."

Back in Hall H the Doctor Who panel commenced with showrunner Russell T Davies and stars Ncuti Gatwa, and Millie Gibson. We got a first look at this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special featuring Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan, and a brand new spin-off was announced titled The War Between Land and Sea

Then things turned apocalyptic as The Walking Dead: Dead City panel kicked off. Stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and (Negan) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) were there, and we got to see the first teaser for season 2. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol panel was next, with stars Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Melissa McBride (Carol) there talking more about their characters possible romantic relationship in season 2, plus it was announced that the show has been renewed for a third season.

Lastly, the Alien: Romulus panel saw a facehugger attack an actor on stage, plus Alien: Romulus director Fede Álvarez ranked his favorite Alien movies, with Ridley Scott’s original movie raking first place. Oh, and the Dexter: Original Sin team announced a new Dexter spin-off titled Dexter: resurrection with star Michael C. Hall returning to play the titular character. Phew, what a day.

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Marvel panel: Will there be one?

The San Diego Comic-Con Marvel panel is a staple of the convention, and has previously been the source of some huge announcements. Deadline has confirmed the studio will be back this year, but we don't have any details yet on what they will be unveiling.

Next up on the filming schedule for Marvel is Fantastic Four, which begins this summer, so it feels like this will likely be a focus. It's very possible too that we may get some more big announcements of the future of the MCU, as Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars are now on the horizon. Following Jonathan Majors' exit as Kang, a lot is unknown about the direction Marvel will be heading in next.

The panel will be in the primetime spot on Saturday night, from 6pm-7pm PT.

As well as the main panel, Deadpool and Wolverine also has a separate panel on Thursday evening. For a taste of what could be announced, our guide to upcoming Marvel movies and shows may clue you in.

San Diego Comic-Con guests: Who will be at SDCC 2024?

Just like with the panels, there's still a great deal of uncertainty about the San Diego Comic-Con guests due to appear this year. Traditionally, these details can be kept quiet right until the moment that the cast walk out on stage (especially during Marvel's panels). This being said, some huge names have been confirmed to appear at SDCC 2024. Take a look at some of those announced so far:

  • Chris Hemsworth, Transformers: One
  • Jack Quaid, My Adventures with Superman, The Boys
  • Jonathan Frakes, Star Trek
  • Brian Tyree Henry, Transformers: One
  • Ashley Johnson, Critical Role
  • J. Michael Straczynski, Babylon 5 creator
  • Scott Shaw, Sonic the Hedgehog writer
  • William Stout, Return of the Living Dead artist
  • Jim Lee, DC president
  • Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine
  • Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool & Wolverine

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 tickets: How can I watch SDCC 2024?

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 will not be streamed at home. The convention did have a few years during the pandemic when it was possible to watch it from wherever you were, but that won't be the case this year.

This means if you want to watch the panels, you'll need to physically attend the event. San Diego Comic-Con 2024 tickets are all sold out so if you don't have one, you won't be able to get one at this point.

Have no fear, though as we'll be keeping you updated on everything that happens. GamesRadar+ will be on the ground, so make sure you keep an eye on our website and our socials so you don't miss a moment.
