Samsung To Bring Galaxy S24 AI Features To Older Devices

Enter the New Era of Mobile AI With Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has announced that it will be rolling out its flagship AI features to older Galaxy handsets starting from the end of March. This move will bring the new Galaxy AI technology to almost all major mobile devices launched in 2023, including the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, the latest Fold and Flip handsets, and the Tab S9 series.

The company's President and head of mobile, TM Roh, stated that this is just the beginning of Galaxy AI and that they plan to extend the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users by 2024. The AI tools being introduced include Live Translate, Circle to Search, Note Assist, and generative image editing.

While Samsung is offering these features for free initially, there is a possibility that some features may be paywalled in the future. The company has committed to providing Galaxy AI features for free until at least the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices.

This move not only benefits existing users by enhancing their smartphone experience but also presents a potential revenue stream for Samsung. With a large user base of 100 million people eligible for the update, there is a significant opportunity for the company to attract subscribers for premium AI features.

Looking ahead, Samsung may explore further advancements in AI to make smartphones more user-friendly and efficient. The integration of AI could simplify the user experience by making various features more accessible and intuitive.

Google is also making strides in this direction with its Gemini for Android app, which can scan and summarize content from Google Drive or Gmail accounts. The prospect of having a virtual assistant that enhances smartphone usability is promising, offering a practical approach to leveraging AI technology.

As technology continues to evolve, the focus on enhancing user experience through AI-driven features is becoming increasingly important. Samsung's initiative to bring flagship AI capabilities to older devices signals a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the competitive smartphone market.
