Samit Dravid's 87 vs Mumbai goes in vain

MUMBAI: India coach and batting legend Rahul Dravid's son Samit scored 87 off 95 balls, in an innings studded with ten fours, but his knock went in vain as Karnataka lost by 46 runs to Mumbai in their Vinoo Mankad Trophy (Under-19 One-Dayers) pre-quarterfinal match at the Emerald Heights International School Ground in Indore on Tuesday.

Earlier, Samit, a medium pacer who moved the ball both ways, took two for 59 in nine overs. Powered by the talented Nutan's blistering century (107, 62b, 7x4, 7x6), and a half-century by Abhigyan Kundu (64, 69b, 5x4, 2x6), Mumbai put up 345 for eight in 50 overs. Another key contributor for the Mumbai was left-arm spinning allrounder Musheer Khan (35 & 3-54).
