Samantha Faiers has shared her anguish as she spent her first Christmas with her newborn son under the weather.
The former The Only Way is Essex star was "so upset" as she was struck down by a nasty flu as she prepped for Christmas, reports Manchester Evening News. The star was excited to spend the festive season for the first time as a family-of-five.
Sam and her partner Paul Knightly welcomed their third child as a couple earlier this year, as they named their son Edward. The pair have been together since 2014, and have three kids - Paul Junior, seven, Rosie, five, and Edward.

Sam shared the happy baby news to her 2.5 Instagram followers with a sweet photo video that featured fireworks and glimpses of Sam during her water birth. The star wrote: "My whole world.
"No words can describe how in love we are with you baby boy. I honestly can’t explain my feelings right now. Mummy loves you more than you could ever imagine."
Sam unveiled the name later on and has been sharing updates to her social media as a busy mum-of-three. However, as she prepared to relax for Christmas, the mum was hit with what she called "the worst possible flu".
The 31-year-old took to social media to share how her Christmas had gone down, while sharing a photo of her table set with candles. She said: "Hey, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I’ve been quiet on here as I was struck down with the worst possible flu you can imagine.
"After eight days today I’m starting to feel a bit better. So upset it happened over my favourite week of the entire year. Anyway I’m just so happy I’m on the mend."
She is on the mend just in time for her 32nd birthday on New Years Eve this weekend. Sam's period of ill health came after she enjoyed a ski trip with her family, as they hit the slopes in France with a group of friends.
The mum shared a sweet video of her two eldest children Paul and Rosie hitting the slopes for the first time.
Sam wrote: "Paul & Rosie’s first ever time on the real slopes. So proud of these two! Thank you Paolo for being a great coach.
"As you can see the skiing conditions were tricky today & visibility was tough. Such an amazing experience watching my babies ski down a (nursery) mountain."
