Sam Thompson has said he is 'so proud' of girlfriend Zara McDermott as she attended her first ever Cannes Film Festival.
The former Made In Chelsea star took to Instagram to post photos of Zara in a gorgeous red gown.
Sharing a snap of his belle posing in the sweeping red number posing on a staircase, the Hits Radio host said: “I don’t think I’ve ever done this before and it’s a bit lame.
“But I’ve just never seen anyone more beautiful. The fact you’re my girlfriend is hilarious.
“She’s at Cannes Film Festival atm and I’m so proud of you goose for everything you’re doing and you look stunning @zara_mcdermott.”
Ex-Love Islander turned BBC documentary maker Zara jokingly replied: “Omg” followed by crying laughing face emojis.
Zara, 26, and Sam, 30, met after sliding into each other DMs and became an item – making their romance Instagram official in 2019.
The pair briefly split at the end of 2020 when Zara admitted cheating on Sam when she appeared on Celebrity X Factor.
But after calling Sam the ‘love of her life’ and issuing several public apologies, Zara won back her man.
Since then the couple seem more loved up than ever and moved into their first home together in 2021.
Conveniently their London pad is right next door to Sam’s sister Louise Thompson, who lives with fiancé Ryan Libbey and their 18-month-old son Leo.
Earlier this year the Mirror exclusively revealed Sam wants to marry Zara and start a family with her when the time is right.
Sam and Zara are known for poking fun at each other on social media – but Sam’s latest post is a rare display of public affection.
Speaking to his 1.6 million followers on Instagram, he joked Zara looked so good at Cannes he ‘had to main feed her’ with a grid post.
His famous pals seemed to agree, with Denise van Outen commenting: “Unreal beauty.”
Former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa wrote: “Utterly stunning.”
Reality TV star Georgia Harrison said: “She’s a dream,” and Love Islander Indiyah Polack added: “Awww Sam @zara_mcdermott you look AMAZING!!!!”
Fans also had a lot to say – with some urging Sam to pop the question to Zara after four years of dating.
“Put a ring on it already!” one wrote, while another said: “Hurry up and marry her!”
A third commented: “Can we just normalise men praising their loved ones, without thinking it’s lame. It’s wonderful that you write this post.”
“What a stunning dress, @samthompsonuk you are def punching lol,” a fourth joked.
While a fifth added: “This is giving me Blair Waldorf at the train station vibes” in a reference to the scene between Blair and Chuck in Gossip Girl.
