Sam Ryder fans are calling for a change to the voting rules after he won a coveted second place in the Eurovision Song Contest last night.

Space man singer Sam did well enough to earn a total of 466 points - a welcomed result after James Newman failed to garner any votes by judges or the televote in last years' competition.

Betting experts predicted a huge update in the country's luck, with the last win for a UK Eurovision entry coming 25 years ago with Katrina and the Waves' victorious song - Love Shine a Light.
