Musician Sam Ryder said Manchester and Glasgow are safer bets than Liverpool to host Eurovision.
Liverpool was recently shortlisted to host the Eurovision Song Contest alongside several other cities. Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Sheffield all threw their hats into the ring and will have to craft a detailed bid that highlights why they are the best choice for the 2023 ceremony.
Last year's UK entry, Sam Ryder, came second in the contest and became the highest placing act for the nation in over 22 years. The UK will discover who has been selected to host within the upcoming weeks but Sam has already given his thoughts on who he thinks has the best chance.

During a radio interview to promote his new single Somebody, Sam said: "I mean I’d be happy with it anywhere, but Manchester seems like a good bet, or Glasgow. They’re the ones that I think it could go to." Manchester and Glasgow were rumoured to be host cities long before the UK was confirmed as the host nation.
It's rumoured the singer will have a part in the upcoming show despite the Eurovision Broadcasting Union stating it will still be a representation of Ukraine, the original host country. After being quizzed on whether or not he will make an appearance, he said: "I have no idea…I hope so, I’m not going to be coy about it.
"Please let me do something! I’ll sweep, I’ll give the tickets out. I just want to see it, it’s just going to be so amazing, what an incredible experience for like a Eurovision fan!"
