Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra have teamed up to wish their co-star Celine Dion a happy birthday.
The Balmaclellan-born actor, who has played Jamie Fraser in the Outlander series since 2013, teams up with Priyanka who is one of the highest paid Indian actresses in the world. The acting duo have worked alongside music legend Celine Dion in their upcoming romantic-comedy flick Love Again.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Sam said: "Do you know what today is?" As Priyanka replied: "Of course, it's just one of the biggest days of the year." Before they both shouted happy birthday to Celine.
Priyanka added: "Just like our movie you are a real fairy godmother of love," as Sam continues: "So thank you for giving the world your love and your music."
"We are so lucky to know you and we are wishing you your best birthday yet," she adds.
The film will see Sam portray journalist Rob Burns who begins receiving unexpected romantic text messages from an unknown number. Priyanka will take on the role of grieving Mira Ray, who still sends a flurry of devoted text messages to her ex-fiancé's phone number - which unbeknownst to her has been reassigned to Rob.
As Rob heals his own broken heart, his boss assigns him the unlikely task of profiling the amazing Celine Dion where he will then enlist her help to meet Mira and win her over.
Love Again is a remake of the 2016 German language film SMS für Dich which is also an on-screen adaptation of Sofie Cramer's novel of the same name. The film's trailer also revealed that Priyanka's real-life husband, Nick Jonas, will be making an appearance in the film as a man that Mira has an extremely awkward first date.
This comes after the beloved musician Celine was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, which she previously said affects “every aspect of my daily life”. Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) leaves sufferers as 'human statues' as it locks the body into rigid positions.
In the emotional video, she began: "Hello everyone, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person. As you know I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before but I'm ready now
"I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and it's been really difficult for me to face my challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through."
Love Again starring Sam Heughan, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, and Celine Dion will hit theatres on May 12, 2023.
