Sam Fender prompts St James' Park plea with Instagram message to fans

Sam Fender has sparked a massive demand from his fans, after telling them he'd been 'blown away' by the love he'd had in the aftermath of his unforgettable gigs at St James' Park. And the verdict is that he needs to play the stadium again, or even make it an annual event.

Its now been three weeks since the North Shields rocker and local hero packed out Newcastle United's famous ground two nights in a row, as over 100,000 flocked to see him, creating an incredible atmosphere in the process. Given the crazy demand for tickets for the shows, when they went on sale back in the autumn, they were always going to be something special but, after the whole city got gripped by Fender Fever, Sam's St James' gigs became way more than just that.

As well as been treating to Sam anthems like Will We Talk, Hypersonic Missiles, Saturday and Seventeen Going Under and witnessing a star turn from Sam's brother Liam; those who were at the show on Saturday, June 10 , got the added bonus of star guest Brian Johnson, as the AC/Dc joined Sam and his band for renditions of Highway to Hell and You Shook Me Night Long.

After giving fans and the whole of Newcastle a weekend to remember, Sam headed to Ireland at the weekend., playing Belfast on Friday and then Dublin on Sunday night. And, on Wednesday, he took to Instagram to share a montage of snapshots from St James' and writing: "Absolutely blown away with all the love after St James’ Park the last couple of weeks"

As with all of Sam's social media posts, it quickly got a large reaction from fans, with those who'd been at St James' left saying one thing - he needs to do it again.

Saying exactly that, one of Sam's many followers responded: "Please don’t make that the one and only time u play St James’ Sam - I’d hate to never experience a night like that again," with another commenting: "Needs to be an annual event! We should have Fender Friday at SJP every June."

Other fans told the Brit winner it was the 'best weekend of their entire lives,' with another avid fans declaring: "History was made."
