Sam Fender is said to be lining up some cameos from a host of local legends, as he takes to the stage at St James' Park this weekend, for his hotly anticipated gigs at Newcastle United's famous ground.
And, if rumours are to be believed, North Shields star Sam won't be the only icon who'll be stepping into the spotlight at the gigs on Friday and Saturday.
When Sam announced last year he was playing St James', with a brilliant video reveal which saw him on the pitch, his many fans went crazy; with a near ticket meltdown when they went on sale a week later. A massive Newcastle fan, Sam has been a guest at matches on numerous occasions and was over the moon, when legendary number 9, Alan Shearer, turned up at King Street Social in North Shields to hand him a number 1 trophy, on the day that his debut album Hypersonic Missiles shot straight to the top of the charts.

And Alan is one of the big names being mooted for a special cameo at St James' this weekend. ChronicleLive don't want to risk ruining any huge surprises, so we won't reveal any of the other names apparently in the mix; but we will say the four names being mentioned are all absolute music legends and, if they turn up, St James' Park will go wild!
Sam performed at the Alan Shearer Foundation Ball on Tyneside earlier this year and, last month hit a major career high when he supported his all time favourite artist Bruce Springsteen in Italy.
Sam's support acts have now all been confirmed, with Brit stars sharing the stage with local acts and stage times for the gigs have also been released. Fans heading to St James' Park at the weekend will also need to be aware of Sam Fender entry and security rules and the Metro closures in place for both concerts.
