Sam Fender gives fans first look inside St James' ahead of huge Newcastle gigs

Sam Fender has sent his fans' excitement levels through the roof, with a first look video inside St James' Park, as the stage is built for his massive gigs in Newcastle this weekend.

After quite a bit of speculation, Seventeen Going Under star Sam announced he'd be playing at the ground of hi famous football team back in the autumn. The North Shields musician initially only announced one date, but after Ticketmaster went into meltdown due to the huge demand for tickets, a second was swiftly added, with that too selling out in no time.

Since then, Sam has played to audiences across the world and been working on his highly anticipated third album, not to mention him and his band supporting music legend Bruce Springsteen.

And now the countdown is well and truly on to Sam's St James' Park gigs, with him taking to the pitch at NUFC's famous ground on both Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10.

Sam took to his Instagram story on Wednesday morning, to give fans an inside look at the stage build inside St James', with work going on day and night to get it ready, as the ground's famous flood lights are seen in shot. Sam also attached a countdown tracker to the post, with just two days to go to opening night.

Sam's support acts have now all been confirmed, with Brit stars sharing the stage with local acts and stage times for the gigs have also been released. Fans heading to St James' Park at the weekend will also need to be aware of Sam Fender entry and security rules and the Metro closures in place for both concerts.
