Sam Fender wowed fans at one of his latest gigs, by bringing a popular soap star on stage to sing alongside him.
Shaun Williamson, aka Barry from Eastenders, joined the North Shields star at the Truck festival in Oxfordshire last night (July 23) - where the unlikely duo performed one of Fender's biggest hits together.
The pair hit it off and fed off one another's energy, with Sam sporting a mask of the soap icon's face during Getting Started. Both came together in an embrace at the end of the performance, while the two looked equally as star struck as one another.
The Mirror reports that at this stage it's not known if the pair knew each other previously or if Sam knew Shaun was going to be at the festival and decided to get him on stage. Shaun has taken to Instagram to share photos and clips from the night, with one in particular showing the two jumping around the stage in unison before singing.
He also shared an entirely separate post to his main profile, where a video showed the pair rocking out to the song they performed together. Shaun captioned the post: "When @sam_fender asks you to join him on the main stage @truckfestival …"
The former Eastenders star received praise for the performance, as well as comments by bamboozled viewers who couldn't believe their eyes. One person wrote: "Can't believe this! Our favourites, together!" while a second, said: "What a combo!"
A third commented: "Nice one matey," and another, wrote: "That’s ace x"
Shaun is best known for his role of Barry Evans in EastEnders which he played between 1994 and 2004, when he met a dramatic end. Since leaving the soap, Shaun has gone on to range of other roles - including starring alongside Ricky Gervais in Extras.
He is also known for his passion for singing and performs at private gigs and events.
Sam also headlined at the Truck festival following a three year break for the event due to coronavirus restrictions. It marked the festival's 25th anniversary, and took place in Steventon, Oxfordshire - to a crowd of some 25,000.
Other names taking to the stage over the course of the weekend include the likes of Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Kooks, Sigrid, Kelis and Sam Ryder - who made waves on this year's Eurovision song contest.
The festival organisers described returning to Hill Farm after the hiatus as 'truly emotional'. In a statement Truck Festival said: "It was truly emotional yesterday to welcome so many festival-goers back for a Truck Festival three years in the making.
"Being together once again after so long has been brilliant to see, not only with the crowds gathered but also the whole team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Truck happen - some of those we haven't seen in a number of years."
