Sam Altman says world ‘should accept some bad things happening’ with AI

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has pushed back against proposals to regulate the AI industry by claiming that people should accept “some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology”.

In an interview with Politico’s Decoded, Mr Altman said he disagreed with the stance of OpenAI’s closest competitor Anthropic when it comes to close controls over advanced artificial intelligence models.
