Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood says Sam Allardyce couldn't believe his Leeds United side lost by a single goal margin at Manchester City. Many had expected Pep Guardiola's side to thump the Whites, who have the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season.
A first-half brace from Ilkay Gundogan put Man City in the driving seat, but Rodrigo's late goal meant Leeds still had a fighting chance in the dying minutes. The Whites were unable to find that all important equaliser, but many supporters were happy with the performance.
Man City had a late penalty to go 3-0, with Erling Haaland handing the ball over to Gundogan for his hattrick, much to the displeasure of Pep Guardiola.

“It’s the widest 2-1 I have ever seen,” Sherwood told Premier League productions. “When there is only one goal in it, then there is always a chance for the opposition.
“But Sam (Allardyce) can’t believe it. He is coming away with this as a moral victory. When you saw the two managers at full-time, you would have thought Sam Allardyce was the one who won the game and Pep Guardiola wasn’t.
“Sour taste in the mouth of Pep Guardiola (because of Erling Haaland handing Gundogan the penalty only for him to miss).”
