Sam Allardyce revealed on his podcast last week that Wilfried Gnonto should be starting for Leeds United.
Javi Gracia has been reluctant to name Gnonto in the starting XI since taking charge in February. The teenager was handed only his third start under the Spaniard in the 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Sunday.
Allardyce has since emerged as the top contender to takeover from Gracia, who Leeds are considering sacking after just 10 weeks at the helm.
Allardyce has been out of management since stepping down as West Brom manager in 2021, and if he takes the job at Elland Road, he will have the unenviable task of keeping them in the Premier League.
But the 68-year-old already has an idea of which players will feature in his starting XI, and it's clear he's an admirer of Gnonto.
"There are a couple of players who in my opinion should be playing. Wilfried Gnonto, the young Italian kid," Allardyce told his No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.
"Fantastic. He's so positive, so driven, so direct with the ball, he gets the play up the field and he doesn't mind defending as well."
