The Salmonella outbreak that federal investigators traced to imported jalapeño peppers has moved out of restaurant kitchens and onto grocery shelves. Taylor Fresh Foods has recalled prepared foods made with the implicated peppers, and the Food and Drug Administration has published the list of affected products.
The recalled items include salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, refrigerated dips, diced jalapeños, a prepared sandwich, a burrito, and a shrimp salad. According to the FDA advisory, updated August 10, those products went to retail distribution centers in 26 states with a "Best If Used By" date up to and including August 16 of this year.
