The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has arrested a fifth accused in connection with an incident where an armed gang opened fire outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence. The arrest was made in Rajasthan, and the suspect is being brought to Mumbai for legal proceedings.
Mohammed Rafiq Chaudhary was arrested while he was travelling in a train, confirmed a police officer. He will be produced in court to seek remand for further investigation.
Investigators claim that he is part of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. He allegedly conducted a recce prior to the shooting. Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the attack, within hours of the crime.
