Sally Dexter is looking to return to Emmerdale despite character Faith Dingle's death

Emmerdale favourite Sally Dexter is teasing a return to the ITV soap despite her character dying earlier this month.

Emmerdale fans were in tears when Faith Dingle, played by Sally Dexter, departed the soap concluding her terminal cancer storyline. At the start of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary episodes, viewers saw Faith take her own life before the cancer took hold of her brain.

The scenes were incredibly emotional and moving. Although, acting star Sally has suggested it might not be the last we’ve seen of Faith Dingle. Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I would have no objection to Faith reincarnating.”

She then explained she would be up for a return at Christmas. We’ve previously seen character Val Pollard return as a ghost in scenes alongside Eric Pollard.

We've previously reported Sally's views on leaving Emmerdale and featuring in such a deeply challenging storyline. She said: "Even though I think it's the right thing, it's quite devastating because I'm going to leave behind people I really care about, like Jeff, Lucy (Pargeter) and Natalie (J Robb).
