Saira Khan shares bikini throwback to the 'best days of he life' as she spent a year backpacking the world on her own.
The Celebrity SAS star said her 12 month travels which saw her head to South Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands and wrapping up in LA allowed her to become more open minded.
The Daily Mail Columnist penned: "This is me at the age of 32, travelling around the world on my own with just my rucksack, Lonely Planet Guide and no cares in the world.
"I’m sorting out my travelling photos and came across this one and immediately it made me smile."
Sharing more details on the beach snap, a young Saira is photographed on the El Nido, Palawan, Phillipines where she learnt to dive.
She explained:"I was living in a little shack and would go out in a little boat with my retired French instructor, who used to be an Investment banker, but retired there for the simple life!
"These were some of the best days of my life - exploring, learning, challenging myself and seeing the world with my own eyes."
She said her trip in 2002 saw her only connection with internet cafes and pre-mobile phone era.
Penning her post to followers she asked: "Anyone else done that trip?"
The mum-of-two who is married to husband of 17 years Steve Hyde, says she will encourage their children Zac and Amara to travel in the future.
She added: "I’m going to encourage my children to travel, because when you see different countries and the people of those countries, you break down stereotypes, become more open minded, informed and more tolerant.
Referring to the pandemic testing restrictions she added: "World travel is so complicated now - but where there is a will there’s a way!"
The TV personality signed off her throwback post pledging to make it happen adding: I’m going to recreate that bikini shot on a beach somewhere this year! What holidays have you planned for this year?"
