The Atlanta Falcons won’t have to face Michael Thomas in Week 12. The New Orleans Saints placed the veteran wide receiver on the injured reserve list Tuesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Thomas was replaced on the Saints 53-man roster with Marquez Callaway. The Falcons could also be without a starting receiver as Mack Hollins missed the team’s Week 10 matchup against the Cardinals.
Atlanta named Desmond Ridder the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. New Orleans is still evaluating quarterback Derek Carr, who’s in the NFL concussion protocol.
If Carr can’t play, look for Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill to carry the load for the Saints.
