Newcastle United 's crucial Friday evening clash with Wolves saw them record a much-needed win in front of a packed St. James' Park. The Magpies faithful were out in full force as Eddie Howe 's side ran out deserved winners thanks to a Chris Wood penalty in the second-half.
Wolves struggled throughout, only really springing into life in the closing stages of the tie. Newcastle, however, controlled the game in a professional manner and were unlucky not to have found the net on more than one occasion through the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes.
Here are the moments you may have missed from the 1-0 victory.

Bruno and the ball boy
Bruno Guimaraes is already adored on Tyneside. He continued his fine form in a black and white shirt by effortlessly controlling the game and pulling the strings in the middle of the park last night. Guimaraes was one of the first players over to celebrate with Wood as he slotted his penalty home too.
As the fans on the terraces celebrated, Guimaraes gave one young fan a moment he will never forget. Photographers at the stadium caught the Brazilian midfielder picking up a nearby ballboy and hoisting him aloft as the players hugged Wood. Another magic moment from Newcastle's very own wizard.
Fraser reaction
Newcastle were dealt a huge blow in the early stages of the game as Ryan Fraser hobbled off through injury. Despite numerous attempts to continue, the winger had no choice but to exit proceedings in the 12th minute. Miguel Almiron was the player chosen to replace Fraser, who slowly limped off the pitch and straight down the tunnel. The reaction of the player said it all.
Fraser looked totally distraught as he trudged past Howe, giving his boss a very flimsy and unconvincing handshake. The Scotland international looked close to tears as he made his way down the tunnel. Let's hope he isn't set to suffer another unlucky spell through injury.
Saint-Maximin support
Allan Saint-Maximin seems to always divide opinion. Last night was no exception. The Frenchman was given the ball at any opportunity during the Wolves win as Newcastle players looked to him as the man who could make things happen. Supporters watching at home on Sky Sports took to Twitter in the second-half to voice their frustrations with the wide man after missing crucial chances. However, it was a different story in the stadium.
On the 62nd minute, the Gallowgate came together to stand and sing the attacker's name over and over. It was a sign of support that shows the mercurial winger is still backed by the fanbase despite his dip in form in recent weeks. It was good to see fans in attendance rally round the player.
Ghoudoussi gets involved
Newcastle's owners have been hands-on from the moment they arrived on Tyneside. The hierarchy met with supporters from the NUFC Trust on Friday afternoon to discuss the future of the club. They then took their usual seats inside St. James' Park.
Before kick-off Merhdad Ghoudoussi proved that he himself is a fan as he joined in with the Wor Flags display in the directors' box. Picking up a flag of his own, the Newcastle chief waved it with pride as the players took to the field. It's great to see the owners getting involved.
