Saint Luke's to host leading winemaker Diego Echeverria for epic night of food and drink

Glasgow foodies are in for a treat this week as one of South America's leading winemakers stops off in the city.

Diego Echeverria will be hosting an evening on the terrace at Saint Luke's where he will be talking the audience through some of his favourite wines from the family vineyards.

The handpicked wine will be accompanied by a bbq from the in-house team at the east end venue.

The event promises to take guests on a journey across the Echeverria estates of Chile, exploring their stunning traditional, natural, and low-intervention wines.

Diego said: “We are very excited to join some of Glasgow’s finest for a relaxed but premium evening of fine wine and food.

“I am very happy to be in Scotland as we love connecting with our customers and telling people about our wines.

“Our family started the winery in 1930, we are the fourth generation making wine, the first generation settled in the property, the second made the winery, the third dedicated time to the grapes, and the fourth generation had the vision to export.

“Our mission is to give an experience and a bit of Chile, and give them the best satisfaction they can have of this Chilean experience. As a family business this is something that we want to bring to the next generations as well.”

Alex Riches, operations manager for the Saint Luke’s group, said: “It’s fantastic to see internationally renowned producers coming in to the venue to meet our customers and friends.

“We stock these wines and they are superb so we’re looking forward to hearing more about them from the man who makes them, along with his brother Roberto.

“This is a really special event and the perfect chance to enjoy a drink and some great BBQ food on our lovely covered terrace.

"Capacity is VERY limited though, so do buy in advance if you want to join us.”

The evening with Diego Echeverria will be taking place on Wednesday, June 22 at 6.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £35 and can be purchased here.
