Sainsbury's shoppers rave about £4 beauty balm that is so good it 'rivals' £46 Elemis

We often hear about beauty dupes being stocked by big name supermarkets. One of the latest finds by Sainsbury's shoppers is a £4 beauty balm that some are claiming rivals premium brand Elemis.

A viral video was spotted by Nottinghamshire Live sister publication the Manchester Evening News (MEN). The publication said that a beauty buff who had tried out and posted the finding of the balm was so impressed that she claimed it rivalled high-end brand Elemis's £46 premium product.

Big-name beauty products command some big prices, as the £46 Elemis product demonstrates. As the MEN stated, products such as cleansing balms are popular additions to a skincare routine thanks to their nourishing and moisturising properties. The MEN added that Tik Tok user @debbiemillyard found a budget alternative.

In the video, which has racked up more than 657,000 views, the beauty buff said Sainsbury’s “have outdone themselves” with this £4 make-up cleanser. She announced that people “need to stop spending £50-£60” on the Elemis product as Sainsbury’s Source of Nature Nourishing Cleansing Balm gets the job done.

The ingredients in the products are quite similar, according to the report. The dupe contains eucalyptus oil, shea butter and lavender oil, while the Elemis formula also includes those three ingredients, along with other oils such as chamomile.

The TikToker said the product smells “divine” as it melts the make-up off her face. She added that the cleanser also has a “slight bit of texture” which acts as a gentle exfoliant. After wiping the cleanser off with cotton pads, the tester said her skin was left feeling hydrated and make-up free.

One viewer of the video responded by saying: "This is such a nice video as ppl [people] are struggling to live and they just wanna treat themselves to a dupe and why not as this is very affordable." Another agreed, saying: “I have it too, it’s amazing. I also got an avocado one from another store for same price it’s the best.”

While the product did not receive great reviews on the Sainsbury’s website with some saying they found it a bit too rough, the TickToker said: “I just go by my own experiences not what others say! Everyone’s different.”

The balm is currently out of stock on the Sainsbury's website. But it can be found in stores, depending on stock levels, and is currently priced at £4.
