A pint of milk has broken the £1 threshold for the first time as Brits continue to be hit by the cost of living squeeze.
Shoppers in Sainsbury's will now have to pay record prices for a pint of milk with the product now costing £1.05 in its smaller shops.
Two pints, meanwhile, cost £1.35 in another blow to shoppers as inflation hit 10.1 per cent in July, marking a 40-year high.
