A supermarket in a Nottinghamshire village will be closing its doors for 10 days as it undergoes a refurbishment. The Sainsbury's store in Balderton will be closed from Monday, June 19 to Thursday, June 29 so that a range of improvements can be made to the store.
It is hoped these changes will make the shopping experience more convenient and enjoyable for customers. Some of the upgraded features being installed include new signage and fixtures across all departments, as well as new checkouts.
The refrigerated cabinets will also be replaced, and new underlying heating and cooling infrastructure will be installed at the store. Sainsbury's also plan to make the store more energy efficient as part of the supermarket's broader sustainability plans and ambitions, known as its 'Plan for Better.'
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson stated: "We’re constantly investing in our store estate to ensure we provide the best offer we can to the customers and communities we serve. We hope our customers in Balderton will enjoy their newly refreshed store once the upgrade works are complete and we’d like to thank everyone for bearing with us while we make these changes.”
Whilst the closure of the store may be difficult for some villagers, Balderton is also home to a range of other supermarkets and local shops. Additionally, customers can also find their nearest Sainsburys in Bingham.
