Sainsbury's begins selling Prime for first time as shoppers say it's like 'The Hunger Games'

Prime Hydration fans stormed to their nearest Sainsbury's from the early hours of the morning after the supermarket began stocking the drink for the very first time.

The viral sports drink, which was created by Youtubers KSI and Logan Paul, has been a major hit with children across the country, leading many parents to try and grab it for them.

It has previously been sold in Aldi, Asda, Costco and Spar where it has sold out almost immediately, which is why Sainsbury's has become the next go-to hotspot for many of its fans this morning.

Four flavours, including the limited-edition KSI Orange and Mango flavour, officially dropped in the supermarket chain today where they are priced at around £2.

Similar to previous retailers, Sainsbury's has put a restriction on the amount customers can purchase, with many being limited to three per person in a bid to help meet demand.

Eager shoppers have flocked to Twitter and Facebook to share how they had rushed to their nearest Sainsbury's store in the early hours of the morning, with some queuing from 5am.

One hopefuly customer tweeted: "Over at Sainsbury’s at 5:20 in the UK just for prime from @KSI and @LoganPaul can’t wait."

Another person tweeted: "Sainsbury’s at 7am this morning. Just started selling prime. It was like watching the hunger games."

Another wrote: "Prime is crazy man! My brother that doesn’t usually wake up until 1pm at the earliest was up and queuing outside Sainsbury’s this morning before 7am?! How good is this drink?!"

A fourth added: "Have just started selling Prime & the queue for it was nearly out the door. I'm not even tempted to try it. People going mad for the stuff lol."

However, some shoppers were left disappointed after their local store did not seem to be selling the sports drink, with some directly tweeting the Prime Tracker app's official account for further information.

"Asked my local Sainsbury's in Basingstoke security took me to kiosk and they said they haven't even had their first delivery yet", said one customer.

"I went to Sainsbury’s early in the morning looking for prime and there was none. I asked the staff when they would have it and they said they aren’t sure yet, please when is Sainsbury’s going to have some prime?", said a second.

Prime Hydration is currently priced at £2 in Sainsbury's and shoppers can get flavours including ice pop, blue raspberry, lemon lime and tropical punch. The limited-edition KSI orange and mango flavour is priced at £2.50.
