Keepers have bid a "very sad farewell" to Scotland’s only African elephant, Mondula, who has died at the age of 54 following a period of ill health.

Known affectionately as Mondy, the elephant had resided at Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling since 1998, having been transferred from Erfurt Zoo in Germany.
