Sadio Mane's future remains unclear ahead of the Champions League final, which could prove to be his Liverpool swansong.
The forward will soon enter the final 12 months of his deal, but much of the attention at Anfield has been focused on Mo Salah, who will also be out of contract in just over a year. Bayern Munich are heavily linked with the Senegal star.
The German champions are ready to test Liverpool's resolve this summer with a bid, as per several reports, as they face the threat of losing Serge Gnabry, who himself is in contract talks with the Bavarians. Mane himself has remained tight-lipped on his next move. He's played a starring role as the Reds pushed for the quadruple - and could still help them claim three pieces of silverware.
Ahead of the European Cup final in Paris Mane has said about his future: “Honestly, the answer I can give you now is I feel very good, and I am fully focused on Saturday’s game. That is the answer I must give before the final. But come back to me on Saturday and I will give you the best answer you want to hear, for sure. It’s special.
"I will give you all you want to hear then. For now, let’s go win it because I have no time for other things. I will do everything possible to win it because it is my and all the boys’ biggest dream, then I will give you the answers.”
Liverpool added Luis Diaz back in January to further bolster their forward line. Whereas Jurgen Klopp once had a front three of Mane, Salah and Roberto Firmino that picked itself there is now competition. Diogo Jota has also proven his quality.
Nevertheless, Mane remains a regular and has scored 23 times in all competitions this term. His club exploits have gone alongside his successes with the national side. That has put him in contention for the Ballon d'Or
“We will do everything we can to win it and then we will see what happens with the Ballon d’Or,” Mane added. “I think myself and all the Liverpool players have targets from the beginning of the season, which is to go for all the trophies.
"So far we have won two, and missed one, which is behind us now, and Manchester City fully deserved it [the Premier League title]. And to win the Champions League would be special for me and for all the other boys."
