Bayern Munich could sell Sadio Mane following his bust up with Leroy Sane after he reportedly punched his team-mate following the German side’s Champions League defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad.
The former Liverpool man only moved to the Allianz Arena at the start of the season in a £35 million switch which was seen as a major coup for the Bundesliga giants. But the move hasn’t worked out with 11 goals before picking up an injury which also ruled him out of Senegal’s World Cup squad.
Mane was reported to have had a bust up with former boss Julian Nagelsmann before his sacking and he has started on the bench in three of the four games under new boss Thomas Tuchel. His frustration is said to have boiled over when he hit Sane with shocked team-mates pulling the pair apart after a 3-0 defeat in their quarter final clash.
German outlet Sport1 reports: “The leaders, around CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, discussed in detail on Wednesday and discussed the possible consequences for the Senegalese.”
Sky Germany say a fine, suspension or sale could be on the cards. They said: “Fine or suspension? FC Bayern cannot accept this. It will go beyond a fine. Bayern must lead by example We do not believe in the future of Sadio Mane at Bayern beyond the summer. There are a lot of players who criticise Mane. They assume that Mané will no longer play at Bayern Munich."
