Dundee United are trying to strike a deal for Ugandan striker Sadat Anaku as Jack Ross looks to bolster his frontline after a disappointing start to the campaign.
The 21-year-old has been on trial with United for the last few weeks and has impressed in a number of trial games against English Premier League sides. Anaku currently plays for Kampala Capital City Authority and is keen for the chance to play in Europe, and looks set to be rewarded with a contract at Tannadice.
He has been training with Ross’s first-team this week and has impressed the Dundee United boss. United are set to open talks with the player and any move would be subject to a work permit being obtained for the player. Anaku isn't the only player getting a chance to win a deal in the City of Discovery, with fellow Ugandan defender Enock Walusimbi also been on trial with United.
United have previously dabbled in the African market to bring in Ghanian attacker Mathew Cudjoe. The forward has impressed in the Scottish Premiership despite the club suffering three consecutive defeats.
