Dior and A24 introduced their new creative partnership with a short film built around a single, repeating joke: five different actors, all playing the same person. Sabrina Carpenter, Camille Cottin, Josh O'Connor, Drew Starkey, and Sophie Wilde each appear as Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson, with Anderson himself closing out the cast list playing Jonathan Anderson. The film was directed by Aidan Zamiri and shared by A24 on social media.
The credits format, "Sabrina Carpenter as Jonathan Anderson," repeated across five actors before landing on Anderson playing himself, frames the whole project as a piece of collaborative theater rather than a traditional brand campaign. A quote attributed to Anderson accompanying the release describes the project as the start of a partnership built around artists and storytelling, with the idea that placing two creative industries side by side reveals things neither could find working alone.

"This is the start of an exciting partnership built around artists and storytelling. Putting two creatively driven worlds side by side - you start to see what they pull out of each other...
The film marks the public unveiling of a broader two-year arrangement between Dior and A24, which makes the fashion house the lead sponsor of A24's Cherry Lane Theatre in New York's West Village. A24 bought the century-old, 167-seat Off-Broadway venue in 2023 and has spent the past two years turning it into a hub for film screenings, theater and live events alongside a restaurant from the team behind Frenchette. Dior's involvement is structured around funding a program of talks, films and live events at the space, alongside backing select A24 productions, rather than traditional product placement.

Casting is where the story lands for fashion readers specifically. Carpenter and Cottin have both worn Anderson's Dior on red carpets this year, Carpenter at the house's menswear show in Paris and Cottin at the Cannes Film Festival. Josh O'Connor and Drew Starkey are Dior's existing menswear ambassadors under Anderson, both drawn into his orbit through prior projects, including costume work Anderson did for Luca Guadagnino's "Queer," which starred Starkey. Sophie Wilde rounds out the cast as a newer face to the Dior circle. Having each of them play a version of Anderson, rather than simply appear as themselves in Dior clothing, is a different move than the standard ambassador rollout, treating the designer's persona as something collaborators can each interpret rather than a fixed brand asset.
Director Aidan Zamiri is a natural fit for the conceit. The Scottish photographer and filmmaker has built a career at the intersection of fashion, music and film, directing campaigns for Timothée Chalamet and making his feature debut this year with "The Moment," a mockumentary built around Charli XCX playing a version of herself. That background, blending real personas with performance, lines up directly with a short film premised on multiple actors inhabiting the same real designer.
For Dior, the project extends a run of unconventional rollouts under Anderson, who has already reshaped how the house stages its runway shows and leaned into cinematic, narrative-driven presentations since taking over both womenswear and menswear. For A24, it's another example of the studio using its cultural capital, and now its physical theater, to court fashion and music partnerships rather than sticking strictly to film distribution.
