A security officer was killed in the southern Jordanian city of Maan by what the Public Security Directorate described as "saboteurs", following riots in the governorate Thursday night.
Riots and protests erupted in Maan following government decisions to raise fuel prices.
The protests soon spread to areas in the governorates and villages of the Kingdom.
The Public Security Directorate mourned the death of Colonel Abdel-Razzaq Abdel-Hafez Al-Dalabeh who scummed to his wounds after being shot in the head.
It also affirmed its keenness to preserve the security of the homeland and protect its citizens, stressing it's respect to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression.
