December S&P 500 E-Mini futures (ESZ24) are trending up +2.37% this morning as Donald Trump declared victory in the U.S. presidential election, while investors also geared up for the start of the Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting.

Republican nominee Donald Trump claimed victory in an address to supporters as the latest results indicated he secured wins in both Pennsylvania and Georgia. “I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe, and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve,” Trump said, adding that “we’re going to help our country heal.” The Republican party also gained control of the U.S. Senate and posted early gains in the race to retain control of the House of Representatives.
