Rylan recalls terrifying death threat from stranger who threatened to 'slice' his neck

Rylan Clark has recalled receiving death threats in his career, saying that someone once threatened to 'slice his neck' whilst he was staying at a hotel.

The presenter, 34 - who rose to fame on the X Factor back in 2012 - spoke about his decade-long career whilst he was a guest on an episode of the High Performance podcast.

A teaser for the latest episode - which is set to be released on Monday (January 16) - has shown Rylan discussing the reaction he has received from the public at times.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner said he isn't generally fazed by name-calling - such as being dubbed "talentless" - but he explained that receiving death threats is "difficult".

He explained: "I don't care if someone calls me talentless. I don't care if someone says 'big tooth p***k'. I don't care. It's like, I've got money in the bank, I'm fine, babe."

Rylan however went on to state that he has received death threats in the past and shared one example of such. He said that it was "difficult" to have to deal with.

He said: "But when someone's saying 'I can see you currently on your balcony of your room, 401, and I've got a key card because I work here and I'm gonna slice your neck in your sleep'.

"Then you sit there and go 'f***, that's a bit too much information that they know'. [...] And that's obviously difficult."

Rylan made the remarks whilst a guest on the latest episode of the High Performance podcast. It's hosted by presenter Jake Humphrey and psychologist Damian Hughes.

Rylan has enjoyed a decade-long career since being on the X Factor. He's become a presenter and has worked on shows like Big Brother's Bit on the Side and This Morning.

He's more recently been a commentator for the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest. And he co-hosts Strictly Come Dancing's companion show It Takes Two.
