Rylan Clark sends message to Strictly family with fresh It Takes Two exit update

Rylan Clark has said he just wants to "sit indoors in his pyjamas for a bit" after quitting It Takes Two. The presenter announced he was standing down from hosting the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off with a statement last week.

However, following the shocking career news, Rylan has lifted the lid further. After being the subject of many rumours and speculation, including predictions that he will be the presenter of the Big Brother reboot, Rylan has set the record straight.

Speaking to his BBC Radio 2 listeners on Saturday, April 15, the 34-year-old said: "So I just want to say publicly to all the Strictly family, I love you dearly for the last four years. Can I just confirm please as well, I’m seeing all the rumours.

"Please carry on with your rumours, I ain’t going anywhere darling. It was just my time to say thank you and you know, go, and I don’t know, sit indoors in my pyjamas for a bit."

It comes after the presenter announced he was quitting the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off after four years with an emotional statement on social media on Wednesday, April 12.

It read: "After 4 fantastic years it's time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I've had the best time hosting the show alongside Janette and Zoe and I can't thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show. I've been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me."

Explaining why he was stepping down, Rylan added: "The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me. Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart… and dancing feet."

Before joining Strictly's spin-off show alongside Janette Manrara in 2019, Rylan rose to fame on The X Factor and later fronted Big Brother's Bit on the Side before the long-standing show was axed in 2018. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
