Rylan Clark is in a "good place", but the star admits he is not "fully happy" following his marriage break up.
The Supermarket Sweep presenter, 33, split from his husband of six years, former Big Brother contestant Dan Neal, 42, last summer, and Rylan has now told how he just wants to get to a stage in life where he is "always happy" and stops worrying about his past.
He said: "In 10 years’ time I’d just like to be happy. I know that sounds w**k but it’s the truth.
"Genuinely, the best piece of advice I could give [my younger self] is make sure you’re always happy.
"I’ve been in a lot of situations over the last 10 years where I’ve gone on with something because I thought it was the right thing to do. Or because I thought it was good for my job or my personal life.
"But if you’re not happy, it’s really not worth it.
Speaking to the Big Issue Magazine, he continued: "The day I know I’m fully happy is when I don’t have thoughts about certain things, thoughts about the past. Like, I’m good. I’m in a good place at the minute. But to be fully happy, I’m not there yet.
"My main aim is wake up, do my job. Not stress about the small stuff. Just try and smile my way through."
Rylan wed Dan in 2015, after he met the former police officer in 2013, but the star recently admitted he considered quitting show business after his marriage ended, admitting he "didn't want to come back" to work and "didn't want to do anything".
The TV presenter has since returned to the spotlight, appearing on Channel 4 show Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his mum Linda Clark.
After winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side from 2013 to 2018, until Big Brother and the spin-off series were axed by Channel 5, Rylan has admitted in a new interview that he would love to host a special version of the main show for politicians.
He said: "We could do a nice little Big Brother where we vote for the prime minister, and then we vote for the deputy prime minister. I could host.
"And it doesn’t matter what party they’re from, everyone’s just got to work together.
"Simple as that. Around that table, better decisions would be made.
"I’d like to see this country being run by normal people who understand normal issues.
"I don’t care whether you’re from Eton or from Basildon, as long as you’re doing a good job. Personally, I’d quite like to see party-less politics.
"We’ve all got our vaccine passports. Why have we not got a government app where we put our points across? It seems crazy that it’s still pen and paper, go to the polling station, put your X in a box. B******s. Everyone’s doing an app.
"If I was prime minister that’s what I’d do. I’d make politics accessible for everyone."
Rylan was recently part of the BBC's Eurovision Song Contest presenting team for the competition in Turin, Italy, which he has described as the "best week of my life".
But the star was trolled for partying during his downtime in Italy, with some claiming licence fee money was used to pay for his drinks - but the former X Factor contestant insists he bought his own beverages, and all licence payers had to fork out for was a £28 budget airline flight.

He added: "Everything about it was amazing from start to finish.
"I’m so lucky to have that job. Looking online you’ll get the odd idiot like, ‘Why are we paying for you to go out and get pissed?’ You’re not.
"Basically, as a licence payer, you’re paying 28 quid for Ryanair from Stansted at half seven in the f***ing morning. If I’m going out and getting pissed, I’m paying."
