Rylan Clark has revealed that his beloved mum is back in hospital after suffering a “nightmare fall” earlier this month.
The BBC Radio 2 DJ, 34, took to Instagram on Monday to share a video of Linda, 71, sitting in a wheelchair on a hospital ward with a cast on one arm and one of her legs hanging off the footrest.
Linda, who has appeared with Clark on Celebrity Gogglebox, was seen making her way up in a lift as she laughed and smiled at the camera.
Attempting to lighten the mood, he soundtracked the clip with the song You Raise Me Up and captioned the post: “Early morning hospital bants.”
On September 1, Clark told his followers he would be missing his show as “my priority at the moment is my mum” after her “bad fall”.
Almost two weeks later, he appealed for advice online as Linda was struggling to get booked in for surgery with the NHS “on its knees”, which was worrying the family given the “time sensitive” nature of her needing her staples removed.
In a further update on September 11, he clarified his remarks, writing: “For any confusion, Mum is in a arm cast and has a leg brace on, she has broken her arm and leg in Spain.
“Spanish surgeon said she needs staples out this week (time sensitive) and I need to pick it up the second we get back…
“She has to have nurses and care anyway because of her other serious illness which I’ve arranged.”
