The One Show star Alex Jones was compared to Eastenders stalwart Phil Mitchell by a joking Rylan Clark. He made the comparison after presenter Alex lost her voice ahead of the show on Friday (July 1).
Welsh host Alex told viewers her voice had "just gone". The joke came when she introduced co-host Rylan, who is a favourite on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox with mum Linda.
Birmingham Live reports that he turned to her and joked: "And Phil Mitchell." He then wrapped his arm around Alex and, pointing towards her throat, asked: "What's going on here?"

Alex replied: "I don't know. My voice is just gone. I think I'm just a bit tired. It's just gone." Co-host Rylan revealed her voice had suddenly gone shortly before they were due to film the live show.
He said: "You were alright earlier and then come four o'clock..." Alex then revealed the reason behind her sore throat. "We were doing Ronan Keating impressions earlier," she admitted, in a reference to another of her The One Show hosts. Rylan added: "It's my fault. I do apologise." Alex insisted she was OK, though. She added: "I'm alright...I'm fine."
