Rylan Clark has announced he will be taking a break from BBC Radio 2. The presenter fronts his own popular show every Saturday from 3pm to 6pm but has confirmed he will not be around "for a fair few weeks" as he signed off over the weekend.
The 34-year-old explained he had "to do some other bits and bobs" but remained tight-lipped on what they were as he asked his replacement to look after his weekly movie and TV quiz Couch Potatoes.
Telling listeners he had an announcement during the show on Saturday, May 20, Rylan said: "This is where I should say ladies I won't be catching up with you next week. Because I am off to do some other bits and bobs so I'm not going to be here for a fair few weeks."

According to The Mirror, he added: "I just want to say whoever is looking after this seat for a fair few weeks can you please make sure you look after Couch Potatoes." Rylan did not share any more information, leaving listeners guessing what he was going to be up to.
"You will be missed big time Rylan," wrote one, while another added: "Don't you go leaving us @Rylan @BBCRadio2 please please please. Hurry home, my Saturdays won’t be the same until you are back. But good luck on your next adventure Darling, you’ll be amazing as always."
And a third speculated: "Maybe he'll be appearing on 'This Morning'..."
The suggestion comes following the exit of Phillip Schofield. The presenter announced he was quitting the show after 20 years on Saturday, May 20 after a rumoured "feud" with co-host Holly Willoughby.
In a statement he said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.
"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.
"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
