From September 26th to September 28th, the 2025 Ryder Cup will be in full flow was Keegan Bradley looks to change Team USA’s fate from 2023.

Team Europe reigned victorious last time out, as Luke Donald lead his team to glory in Rome with a 16 1/2 – 11 1/2 victory.

For the 2025 Ryder Cup, speculation has already began – but not over the tournament itself. Instead, the focus has been diverted to whether or not Team USA will be paid for playing at Bethpage Black in New York.

Conversations over Team USA being paid for appearing at the Ryder Cup have been brought up in the past and recent reports suggest that this could be closer than ever.

American golfers have never been paid for playing in the tournament before, but Rich Beem has spoke about the possibility and how it could impact Team Europe.

He said (Via Sky Sports): “I think it’s kind of sad. I think with the honour of playing in the Ryder Cup with all the history, with all of the great players in the game, the Hall of Famers, why would the players feel like they need to get paid?”

No confirmation has been made by the PGA, but the reports over possible payment for Team USA have revealed that £315,000 will be paid to each member of Team USA.

Did Players Get Paid at 2023 Ryder Cup?

In 2023, the Team USA captain was Zach Johnson and he has denied claims that Patrick Cantlay was frustrated after not being paid to compete.

Cantlay refused to wear the Team USA cap and reports suggested that this was in protest to not being paid and Paul McGinely, a former Ryder Cup captain, has spoke on that issue

He said: “There was a lot of speculation [about Cantlay wanting to be paid], which the players denied. But there’s no smoke without fire there, there was something going on behind the scenes.

Will Team Europe Be Paid At 2025 Ryder Cup?

As of right now, there is no suggestion that members of Team Europe will be paid, as Luke Donald is 100% against breaking the tradition.

Rory McIlroy has also shown support to the Ryder Cup tradition and is not looking to be paid for competing in September 2025.
