Ryanair has been criticised by the Ukrainian ambassador to Ireland for what has been termed "unforgivable" price hikes while war wages in her home country.
Larysa Gerasko has claimed that the Irish airline has increased the cost of flights on a key route used by refugees fleeing Ukraine.
Speaking at a European Union Affairs committee at Leinster House on Tuesday, she said the price of booking tickets between Poland and Dublin had risen.
Ms Gerasko said she is hoping to meet Transport Minister Eamon Ryan to discuss the matter.
She also told the committee that she has written to Ryanair raising her concerns last week but has yet to receive a reply.
“We would be very grateful for that, because it is very difficult to buy tickets from Warsaw or from Krakow to Dublin,” she said.
“And moreover, may I address this issue to Ryanair because raised the prices and it's unfortunate.”
"Unfortunately, our request, our letter, never received any response, I'd say, from Ryanair, because we sent this letter, it seems to me, one week ago.”
Senator Sharon Keogan described the claims as “unforgivable”, while Senator Gerry Horkan said Ryanair should make the flights available for free.
Ryanair has been contacted by the Irish Mirror for comment in relation to the claims.
Ms Gerasko also issued an appeal for EU countries to do more to stop the Russian invasion, yet she thanked the Irish people for the “huge response" since the conflict erupted 20 days ago.
She added that Russia's actions are "a crime against democracy" and that "there will come a time and the actions of the Russian invaders will be equated to the actions of Isis terrorists”.
