Ryanair passengers are being warned that they will not be able to check in for a period of time before their journey and that there will be a "no-go period" regarding check-ins during November. Ryanair's app and online platform will go down for maintenance and check-in portals will be down for 11 hours between 6pm on November 8 and 5am on November 9.
Travellers who don't check in beforehand and have to do it at the airport will be slapped with a fee of £55 (£30 for flights to Spain). You must also be sure to bring your boarding pass as Ryanair charges a £20 'Boarding Card Reissue Fee' to print it for you, reports the LiverpoolECHO.
An in-person check-in fee was first introduced back in 2007 but has since increased to £55. The airline tells customers to check in as early as possible via the app but some journeys do require a paper boarding pass to be printed. The countries Morocco, Lebanon and Israel don’t accept mobile boarding passes nor does Kefalonia Airport in Greece.
