A man who was planning to fly to Barcelona almost ended up going to Dublin instead after a mix-up at the airport. Elliot Booth was only saved by a passenger who had a ticket for the seat he was in.
The 29-year-old marketing manager, from Leeds, was on his way to a work meeting, heading out from Liverpool's John Lennon Airport. Mr Booth said he "was on the unfortunate end" of a mishap that he said was caused by gate operator Swissport.
He told YorkshireLive: "I was due to travel to Barcelona and arrived at my gate in good time and checked through the gate. I then proceeded to follow the only route accessible to myself with my bags down to the left metal barrier onto a bus.
