A man has said he was denied entry onto a Ryanair flight at East Midlands Airport despite having a year left on his passport. He hit out at the restrictions passport validity, warning that they could cause confusion for holidaymakers this summer.
Ian Glover, 66, a retired chartered surveyor from Allestree, in Derby, was turned away from the Ryanair check-in desk on April 25 when he attempted to check-in his luggage for a flight to Portugal. He was told on his way to Faro, that the issue date of his passport was not close enough to the end of his travel, reports Derbyshire Live.
Mr Glover renewed his passport early in 2012, when it still had a year to run. That meant his date of expiry was listed as April 2023, giving him just under a year left on the document.
