A flight from Manchester to Portugal had to turn back around after a passenger 'became ill'.
The Ryanair flight left Manchester Airport at 6.23pm on Friday (February 10) and was due to arrive at Lisbon's General Humberto Delgado airport at 8.25pm. However, once reaching the south coast of England, the Boeing 737-800 plane was diverted back to Manchester - landing at 7.29pm.
A spokesman for the airline confirmed that the affected passenger 'received further treatment by medics' upon the flight's landing. "This flight from Manchester to Lisbon (10 Feb) returned to Manchester Airport shortly after take-off when a passenger onboard became ill," the spokesman said.
"Crew acted in line with safety procedures and called ahead to request medical assistance upon arrival. The aircraft landed normally and the passenger disembarked and received further treatment by medics."
