Ryan Reynolds called Ben Foster a "son of a b****" as the pair debriefed following Wrexham's dramatic win over Notts County in which the goalkeeper was the hero.
The Canadian's comment was tongue in cheek as he consistently hugged Foster, who has only just signed for the non-league club. Reynolds and his fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney have invested huge sums in the Welsh club and bringing in the former Manchester United goalkeeper is amongst his biggest coups.
It was money well spent however as Foster saved a penalty in the 96th minute to ensure Wrexham beat promotion rivals Notts County. The hosts had trailed but eventually ran out 3-2 victors, which gives them a three point lead at the top with a game in hand to come.
Emotions were high and Reynolds made his feelings known in the tunnel after the contest. He said: "You son of a b****. What was that about? You're too old for that!" Foster then joked as the 40-year-old said: "I got cramp as I got up."
The Wrexham owner, who is often seen cutting an animated figure in the stands, added: "That was just bananas. That was the most dramatic thing I've ever seen in my life. I couldn't watch - and then I turned just in time to see you. I'm never going to be the same again"
Elliot Lee eventually got Wrexham's winner in the 78th minute to send the Racecourse Ground into raptures. Former Tottenham protégée John Bostock scored a sensational free-kick to open the scoring in first-half stoppage time before Paul Mullin equalised.
Jacob Mendy put the hosts ahead with Kyle Cameron producing for Notts County, albeit they weren't level for long as Lee seized on a defensive mix-up.
Wrexham are targeting a first promotion since 2008 and their wealthy owner told BT Sport : "I'm used to working under extreme pressure, but usually I have some kind of control over it. I have nothing here, all I can do is watch and hope like everybody else. It was a pressure cooker coming into it for both of these teams. What both have achieved is historic on every level and I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that.
Foster himself hailed the fans in the immediate aftermath of their win and his heroics: "You just dive and hope for the best. I f you go the right way and get your hand on it, you'd like to think you'll save it. This is non league, we fill this out every week, 10,000 fans - the most passionate... we took 4,500 away to Halifax last week, we put in an awful performance and we needed to win big today.
"Obviously we're [Wrexham and Notts County] far and away better than the rest of the teams, so they need to look at that. But fair play to Notts County, that was as good a game as I've played in, genuinely."
